Healthy Strawberry & Cream Popsicles

Such a goodie to have on hand for a snack as the weather warms up or to make with the kids during the holidays (plus if they make ‘em, they’re more likely to eat ‘em!).

Refreshing & healthy for you, and so easy to make…the hardest part is waiting for them to set :)

You can use any popsicle moulds, I got these from Kmart for $2!

Tip: choose strawberries which are glossy and have bright green tips!

Why it’s good for you

Strawberries are loaded with antioxidants which help keep us looking & feeling youthful by protecting us from any oxidative stress in our bodies.

Using frozen works well too as the fruit is frozen not long after picking so they’re still high in nutrients-this goes for all frozen fruit & vegetables.

Strawberries are naturally low in sugar and a great source of Vitamin C which is important for skin health and to strengthen our immune systems-what we could all use more of at the moment!

Using yoghurt will make your gut happy!

It contains probiotics will provide you will gut bugs which are beneficial for your health. Full fat yoghurt has been shown to be beneficial for our health, plus it will help balance blood sugar levels & keep you fuller for longer!

Notes

  1. Use full fat yoghurt to make them less ‘icy’ & the fats are perfectly healthy for us (especially for those trying to fall pregnant!), it’s different to say the fat from a steak

  2. Frozen strawberries will work well, they’re in season and fresh taste amazing right now!

  3. Swap strawberries for any other fruit of your choice

  4. The chocolate is totally optional, but seriously…strawberries & chocolate….how can you say no!

Healthy Strawberries & Cream Popsicles

Refreshing & delicious, the ultimate Summer snack!

Ingredients

  • 250g Strawberries
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla 
  • 1/2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 3/4C Greek Yoghurt (Full Fat)
  • 2 Tbsp Choc Chips (optional)
  • 1/2 Tsp Coconut Oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash & Cut the tops off the strawberries
  2. In a blender or processor combine all ingredients until smooth, pour into moulds & pop in the freezer until frozen
  3. Melt the chocolate & coconut oil & drizzle over popsicles & enjoy!
