The Easiest Strawberry Galette

Convenience shouldn’t compromise flavour right?! This is absolutely delicious, especially when strawberries are in season, the golden, crisp pastry mixed with warm, jammy strawberries is absolutely delicious. It’s perfectly sweet but to too sweet and over bearing. Everyone loves this recipe because it’s so quick & easy and never disappoints!

Tip: choose strawberries which are glossy and have bright green tips!

Why it’s good for you

Strawberries are loaded with antioxidants which help keep us looking & feeling youthful by protecting us from any oxidative stress in our bodies.

Using frozen works well too as the fruit is frozen not long after picking so they’re still high in nutrients-this goes for all frozen fruit & vegetables.

Strawberries are naturally low in sugar and a great source of Vitamin C which is important for skin health and to strengthen our immune systems-what we could all use more of at the moment!

Let’s be real for a second, it’s a dessert so not meant to necessarily be “healthy” but I always like to try to incorporate fruit somewhere in desserts as fruit can be a natural source of sugar.

Notes

  1. Serve with yoghurt or my personal preference for this one…vanilla ice cream!

  2. Store in the fridge for 3 days or freezer for up to 2 months (tightly wrapped)

  3. Gluten Free: use gluten free pastry & swap honey for maple syrup

  4. Top with more fresh strawberries and toasted almonds to serve!
